Summer & Winter Shipping

Extreme heat and cold can ruin wine. Careless shipping of wines during the extreme cold of winter or the intense heat of summer can literally destroy the wine long before it gets to you. After spending nearly a year making really enjoyable wine, this is something we feel strongly opposed to.

To protect our wine and to make sure it's as good as it can be when it arrives at your door, during the summer and winter we may need to HOLD ground shipments if the weather is too hot or too cold. Overnight shipping orders will be shipped immediately. We cannot be held responsible if you demand ground shipment and the wines travel in a climate outside a safe temperature range.

Thanks to the peculiar climate of the Pacific Northwest, some ground shipments to Oregon and Washington will be available during the winter and summer, if and when weather conditions allow.

Important Policies

Age Requirement:
Per state and federal law, wine can only be purchased by and delivered to individuals 21 years of age or older. UPS delivery personnel will require the recipient to provide proof of age before the wine will be released. If an adult will not be available to sign, UPS will attempt delivery another day. Wine shipments cannot and will not be left at a door, with minors or, according to law, with inebriated recipients. Wine orders returned to Purple Hands Wine due to ineligible recipient deliveries will not be subject to refund.

Due to individual state shipping laws, we can only ship to the following states: AK, CA, CO, DC, FL, GA, HI, IA, ID, IL, MI, MN, MO, MT, NC, ND, NE, NH, NM, NV, NY, OH, OR, SC, TX, VA, WA, WI, WV & WY.

Terms of Sale:
ALL WINES ARE SOLD IN OREGON AND TITLE PASSES TO THE BUYER IN OREGON. We make no representation to the legal rights of anyone to ship or import alcoholic beverages into any state outside of Oregon. The buyer is solely responsible for shipment of wines. By placing and order with your credit card or check, you authorize Purple Hands Wine to act on your behalf in processing and shipping the order, including engaging a common carrier to deliver your order. WINES MAY BE SOLD AND DELIVERED ONLY TO PERSONS WHO ARE AT LEAST 21 YEARS OLD AND IN PLACING YOUR ORDER, YOU REPRESENT TO US THAT YOU ARE AT LEAST 21 YEARS OLD AND THE PERSON TO WHOM DELIVERY WILL BE MADE IS AT LEAST 21 YEARS OLD. When your alcoholic beverages are delivered, the person receiving will be required to show identification proving that he or she is at least 21 years old.

Refund Policy: Refund requests will be considered individually. Wine due to ineligible recipient deliveries will not be subject to refund (see above note). If shipment was specifically requested during summer or winter months when inclement weather could directly effect the logevity and quality of wine, refunds will not be issued.
