WICHMANN VINEYARD
In 1975, this 10 acre vineyard was planted by Gary Fuqua's father, an Oregon wine pioneer. They worked together on what was then called Fuqua Vineyard. Gary's vineyard - which is now Holstein Vineyard and Archery Summit’s Red Hills Vineyard - shared the crown of this hilltop with Fuqua Vineyard. In 2010, the Wichmanns purchased Fuqua Vineyard and renamed it Wichmann Vineyard.
In addition to Pinot Noir, Gary had planted Pinot Gris and Pinot Blanc, but the Wichmanns chose to replant those blocks in 2011, making the vineyard eight acres of Pinot Noir and two acres of Riesling. Four acres of the Pinot Noir are planted to the clone Dijon 115, which are now over forty years old. The remainder of Pinot Noir is planted to Pommard and Dijon 777 clones now nearing 20 years old.
